The average hummingbird feeds about seven times per hour and needs to consume about half of its weight in sugar daily.

The average hummingbird’s heart rate is more than 1,200 beats per minute.

When resting, a hummingbird takes an average of 250 breaths per minutes.

Female hummingbirds lay two eggs at a time.
