See the Spectacular Native American Artwork at the Dallas Museum of Art

Experience the rich traditions of Native American art at Hopi Vision: Journey of the Human Spirit, the captivating exhibit on display at the Dallas Museum of Art! This special exhibition features breathtaking works that showcase Hopi artists never-before-seen outside of Northern Arizona.

Journey of the Human Spirit narrates the history of the Hopi people, from the mythic creation stories through the arrival of Europeans in North America, and celebrates the incredible creative Hopi traditions of today. The contemporary mural was inspired by figural wall paintings created prior to European contact. The exhibition is highlighted by a featured mural painting by Hopi artists Michael Kabotie and Delbridge Honanie, displayed for the first time outside of Arizona and the Museum of Northern Arizona. The impressive work spans nearly five feet tall and forty-eight feet in length, with six distinct but interconnected panels.

The mural will be complemented by ancient to contemporary objects from the DMA's collection, including an ancestral Sikyatki Polychrome bowl with flower designs and a modern kachina doll of Palhik Mana, among works by other contemporary Hopi artists. It is an inspirational and fascinating exhibition that you won’t want to miss, so be sure to see the show at the Dallas Museum of Art!
