These Spanish Dancers Will Have You Feeling Refreshed for the Weekend Ahead

Located inside the Winspear Opera House, Nancy B. Hamon Hall is an intimate 200-seat performance space featuring a variety of programming from concerts to Shakespeare staged readings. The beautifully appointed Hamon Hall features a built-in sound system and projection system. In addition to an entrance from within Winspear Opera House, Hamon Hall has a private entrance from Sammons Park.

Imagine an evening in a Spanish café in Barcelona where audiences sip wine and witness the songs, dances and stories behind Joan Miró’s paintings of Spanish Dancers. This selection of Miró’s work calls for a seductive conversation between dancer, singer, musician, and spectator.

Just as André Butron wrote poetry inspired by Joan Miró’s paintings, The Flame Foundation’s resident Dallas flamenco dancers Antonio Arrebola and Delilah Buitron in collaboration with flamenco jazz pianist Alex Conde, French Gypsy vocalist José Cortés, and guitarist, Calvin Hazen will perform flamenco tablao live in response to projected images of Miró’s Spanish Dancers. They will be accompanied by stylized videography from media artist, Trenton Stephenson, whose work explores Miró’s influences in Barcelona and captures the playful innocence Miró’s work imparts on artists of all ages. The audience will feel the beauty of this production as they enjoy an evening worth remembering.

Tickets are $25 and may be purchased by phone at 214.880.0202 or online through the AT&T Performing Arts Center.
